Liverpool Waves of Hope is a Big Lottery funded project in Liverpool that aims to transform the landscape for people with multiple and complex needs including homelessness, reoffending, substance misuse and mental ill-health.
The partnership project is led by Plus Dane and is setting out to deliver a ground-breaking new approach to joining up support services for some of the most vulnerable people in the City. There are four main aspects to the programme: intensive support, an accommodation based support service, peer mentoring and a recovery campus which provides meaningful activities for service users.
Liverpool YMCA are delighted to be providing the accommodation based service and move on support as part of Liverpool Waves of Hope. It has been our philosophy to offer a flexible hostel approach that means we aim to not turn anyone away and not to evict anyone. As a consequence we have been working with some of the city’s most complex people who have multiple needs and multiple barriers to overcome. The Liverpool Waves of Hope project sees us building on this success to provide an intensive package of support to 40 individuals across the length of the project.
