YMCA Liverpool recognise the value in utilising volunteer skills within the activities programme.
We support individuals who have complex needs and can at times present with challenging behaviour. We deliver person centred support to help people to recognise their needs and how to start to make changes in their lives.
We are specifically interested in activities that are holistic, therapeutic and creative, within a supportive environment.
Opportunities could include, but are not restricted to:
- Dutch Farm / horticulture
- English / Maths or IT support
- Physical activity – such as football coaching
- Art Therapy
- Cooking sessions
- Art and Craft
- Foreign languages
You may have skills in fund raising, or provide therapeutic support such as Reiki, meditation or massage
We have a structured recruitment process that takes place every 3 months. If you are looking for opportunities to use your skills and knowledge in a supportive, customer focused environment, you will find details of when we are recruiting.
Volunteers can expect:
- References to be sought
- An enhanced DBS disclosure
- A full induction into the role
- A 3 month probationary period
- Support and supervision
- Travel and Lunch expenses
- Training opportunities
- A meaningful experience
- A reference when moving on
