Get Real
Spreading diversity within the hostel
We experienced a greater diversity in our members ; we found it useful to set up an activity that can bring together our members every Thursday.
We call this activity "GET REAL".
Since the first session on the 21st of October 2010, GET REAL caught the interest of Residents. During this activity, the members alternately share information relating to their culture of origin and more importantly cook a dish of their country.
So we had the chance to know more about Kurdistan, Sudan and Britain.
For our next sessions we have, respectively, Spain, Jamaica, Zimbabwe and Guinea.
21.01.11- Spain

Fantastic was the session on Thursday, the 20th 0f January 2011, as the audience was large and attentive. Congratulations to Antonio Sainz orator of the day. He spoke about the habits and customs of Spain.
It all begins with the recall of “GET REAL” objectives, made by NICAISE Koffi; the leader of this group activity, next ANTONIO SAINZ De La Fuente Garcia Spanish national who recently became member of the YMCA, introduced himself and started his presentation.
He first of all captured the attention of fellow residents as he had the mastery of his subject and also the expertise in explaining the ambiguity of its Hispanic culture.
From the way of greetings, to the dressing Style in Spain we were served in information.
Finally, came the time to pass in review the rich culinary heritage of this wonderful country.
Our presenter of the day will cook for us at the next “GET REAL” a meal call PATATAS ALABRABA.
“Vamos a comer la proxima”, we are going to enjoy our food the next session which will take place on the 27th of January 2011 at 5pm in FUTURES.
