Personal Development
An introduction to the personal development of our members including training courses being established to enhance this development.
Personal development is an important part of a members time at Liverpool YMCA, it is a time in a members life when they have safe and secure accommodation giving them an opportunity to address the areas in their life that have contributed to them becoming homeless in the first place.
Outcomes Star
The YMCA support staff work alongside members using an outcomes approach towards support planning. Members and support staff identify and clarify the outcomes for what the member wishes to achieve and the activities required reaching them; these are measurable and recorded.
These are then analysed to see what can be learnt from the results, what has and has not worked, what changes can be made and what plans are required to achieve those changes.
The method of recording the data is the "Star Chart" attached to an action plan, by this method the distance travelled is measurable with the consistency of marking being clearly identified in the "Ladder of Change" used in conjunction with the star chart.
